We are a renewable energy company located in Houston, TX. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be working close with project developers, regulatory teams, and engineers to design and deliver smooth interconnection execution. You will be familiar with NERC, FERC, IEEE 1547, and utility interconnection standards. Your experience with high voltage substation, transmission and distribution systems will be highly valuable for this opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the grid interconnection process from inception to final approval
Prepare and submit interconnection applications ensuring compliance with NERC/FERC regulations
Design single line diagrams, arrangements, conduct FEED analyses, and specifications for the equipment
Evaluate substation configurations, equipment ratings, and system integration feasibility
Identify transmission contraints, network upgrades, and systems improvements
Communicate and work along side with engineers, project developers, and regulatory teams

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering or similar field, Professional Engineer (PE) license a plus, but not required
3+ years of eletrical engineering experience
Knowledge of NERC, FERC, IEEE 1547, and utility interconnection standards
Experience with power systems such as PSSE, PSCSAD, PowerWOrld, ETAP, or smiliar
Experience with high voltage substation, transmission, and distribution systems
Experience with transmission planning and grid studies
Experience in the renewable energy industry highly preferred
